Budget Trip to Udaipur: Know the Top Attraction under ₹6000.
Udaipur happens to be one of the most peaceful cities of India, with the lakes which sparkle and the mountains that fall under the name of pictorial landscapes. Once it was the capital of Mewar, it is often considered the most royal city in Rajasthan. Still you can make affordable trip plans to Udaipur even though it attracts royalty.
In this Udaipur Trip Budget Travel Guide, we will explore all the ways you can experience this city on a budget of less than ₹6000. From accommodations and transportation, to food and sightseeing, we covered all your essentials.
Here’s the breakdown for you:
Activities:
Mansapurna Karni Mata Ropeway:
Mansapurna Karni Mata Temple is on top of Machhala Magar Hill built by Maharana Karan Singh. Even though there is a staircase, which leads straight from Maniklal Verma Park to the temple, climbing it takes more than 15 minutes with difficulty.
or the ropeway, it is faster and less taxing to walk up to the temple. The journey further affords panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. You may get to see a breathtaking sunset between 6 and 7:30 PM in the cable cars.
The ropeway charges for adult is ₹87 and for children it is ₹43.
Sajjangarh Fort/ Monsoon Palace:
Located within the range of the Aravalli Hills and built in 1884 during the reign of Maharana Sajjan Singh, this palace boasts some of the most beautiful glimpses of Udaipur’s lakes and cityscapes. The Aravalli hills break into fabulous orange color at sunset, and prove to be a perfect setting for panoramic views of City Palace, Lake Fateh Sagar, and this countryside.
The best experience is to visit this place in the evening when the sun will set down. You could view the palace balcony while that is happening. When I went there, the entry fee for the fort was ₹225.
Hanuman Ghat:
The best time to view the setting of the sun over the lake is from Hanuman Ghat, observing boats floating across the water. It is also nearest to Taj Lake Palace.
Unlike most other tourist spots, Hanuman Ghat is very quiet and serene, which is quite a peaceful atmosphere to watch the sunset.
Food:
The food in Udaipur is a byproduct of royal preparations of Rajasthan. The preparation and dishes are so famous that they have spread beyond the state borders. I had three full meals and snacks over two days for around ₹1000 during my visit.
Transportation:
Udaipur is a small city with relatively few public transportation services. Its local buses are hardly available in most areas and it does not have local trains. Most people get around by using shared auto-rickshaws.
While I was here, I mainly used auto-rickshaws to travel and spent this much money:
- Hotel to Karni Mata Ropeway and back: ₹250
- Hotel to Sajjangarh Fort entry point: ₹250
- Scooter from Sajjangarh entry point to hilltop: ₹300
- From Sajjangarh to Hanuman Ghat: ₹150
Budget Breakout for 2-Night/2-Day Udaipur Trip:
- Stay: ₹3500 – Room + Breakfast
- Food: ₹1000- Food + Snacks
- Activities: ₹300-₹400, depending on the activities to be opted.
- Transport: ₹950
Adding up these figures will make it around ₹6000 for a two-day trip to Udaipur.
Budget-Friendly places in Udaipur Trip:
